Hauler Growth is an independent site for people who own junk removal, hauling and dumpster rental businesses and want a fuller calendar without signing a contract to find out whether the marketing works.
Who writes it
Steve Meitler is the editor. He has spent years running growth campaigns for local service businesses, junk removal and hauling companies among them, and has watched enough owners get talked into a redesign when the real problem was an unanswered phone. Everything here is written so an owner can check it, argue with it, or do it himself on a Sunday.
Where the benchmark numbers come from
The benchmark report is built from public Google Business Profile listings. We search Google Maps for junk removal, debris removal, garbage collection and dumpster rental businesses across the country, keep the public fields on each listing (review count, star rating, website link, hours, category, location), remove duplicates by Google place, and compute the statistics.
Two honest caveats. First, this is a smaller sample of 5,171 listings across 51 states, assembled from hauling categories found inside our wider local-service scrapes rather than a dedicated sweep of every metro. It is large enough to show the shape of the field and small enough that you should read it as a strong signal, not a census. Second, junk removal overlaps with waste management and dumpster rental, so a share of these listings belong to companies that do one and not the others. Treat every figure as accurate to within a couple of points, never to the decimal, and treat the direction of a number as more reliable than its exact value. The data is refreshed monthly and nothing behind a login is touched.
Editorial rules
- No pay-to-play. Nobody buys a mention, a recommendation or a ranking here.
- Every number is sourced, either to our own dataset or to a primary source such as Google's published documentation. Opinions are labeled as opinions.
- Guides are written for an owner who is on a truck most days. If a step cannot be done between loads or handed to a dispatcher, it does not go in.
- When a platform changes, the guide gets updated and the date changes with it.
How the free trial works
The site is paid for by the marketing work we do for hauling companies. Every service is offered as a free 14-day trial because an owner should hear the phone ring before paying anyone. You text or call, tell us which service you want to try (Google Ads, Meta ads, AI search optimization, local SEO and Google profile work, a website, social media, review generation, missed-call text-back, email and SMS, bookkeeping, or cold-call appointment setting), and we build it inside your own accounts, usually within 48 hours of a short setup call. It runs 14 days. No card on file, nothing renews. At the end you keep it at a price quoted before it started, switch to a different service, or stop.
